73008  The town of Babb was named after Cyrus C. Babb, superintendent of the Milk River Reclamation Project (1907).
There are approximately 230 full-time local residents that live within five miles of Babb.
Be sure to stop at the oldest business in the Babb-St. Mary Valley - the "Thronson's General Store" opened in 1920.
While in Thronson's, we always make sure to pick up a gallon of "Chief Mountain Honey" for our winter breakfast pancakes.

Babb, Montana is a pretty four miles from the "turn off" to Highway 17 and Chief Mountain.
If you forgot something for the trail, this is your last chance to purchase what you need.
The facilities at the Route 3 junction with Highway 89 ( south of Babb, Montana) have been closed since the early 1970's.

We included a photo of the "Cattle Baron Supper Club" on the south side of Babb, Montana.
The "Supper Club" is a great landmark to watch for if you are riding north on Highway 89 to Many Glacier.
You will know you missed the turn to Many Glacier if you pass the "Supper Club" in Babb.

73008  Wow! There's something you don't see very often outside a grade school.
The fiber glass "Bronc Rider" was made by  Browning, Montana artist Bob Scriver (1914-1999).
You can see Bob Scriver's artwork all over Montana.    There are some well known examples in Great Falls,  Helena and Fort Benton.
