       Laurin, Montana was established in July of 1863 by John Batiste Laurin.
       Placer gold was discovered in nearby Ramshorn and Bivins gulches soon after the discovery of gold at Virginia City. (1863)
       Laurin, Montana was popular destination for miners looking for supplies and their mail.
