Reeder’s Alley in Helena, Montana
Obtaining brick for building material was a difficult task in early day Montana. The Reeder’s Alley buildings (1882) were built with brick manufactured in St. Louis, Missouri. The brick was shipped by “river boat” to Fort Benton, Montana. Finally, the brick was hauled by wagon pulled by oxen to Helena.
